Following the footsteps of his Uncle Don Caviness and Cousin Calvin C. Layland, Dr. Caviness pursued a career in podiatric medicine and later joined Chico Podiatry Group.

Dr. Daniel D. Caviness earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Pacific Union College in Angwin, California. He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine, now named Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. He then continued to complete his podiatric residency and post-graduate training at North Philadelphia Health Systems in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and the VA Hudson Valley Health Care systems FDR Campus in Montrose, New York.

Dr. Caviness is Board Certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and is a Fell ow in the American College of Podiatric Medicine. He also belongs to the American Podiatric Medicine Association and Shasta Podiatric Medical Society.

Being on staff with Enloe Medical Center allows Dr. Caviness to perform out-of-office procedures/surgeries at that facility.

Dr. Caviness enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, making golf clubs, gardening, and woodworking.
